And The Winner Is….

Written By: B.D. Butler - Oct• 30•12

To celebrate the 100th Blog Post here on Parrot Earth, I wanted to do something to involve my supportive readers, so I decided hold a little writing contest!  Well, I thought it was going to be little.  Instead I got so many entries from people all over the country, and even some from over seas, that it took me two days to read them all.  I appreciate every single person that entered, and put their hat in the ring.  It just  means so much that you cared enough to enter.

I chose the winners because their articles left me with a smile on my face, and warmed my heart.  Reading these articles allowed me in to the lives and private worlds of birds and owners, and I am so appreciative to have had the invitation.

Drum roll please….and the  winner is:

1st prize –Charlotte Carlile for the touching story about her rehomed Senegal Capt’n Jack.

2nd prize — Julie Corwin for her beautiful tale of Tavey a Magna Double Yellow Headed Amazon.(will be featured on Nov 1st)

**Because I got some other great stories by Jennifer Phillips, Debbie Goodrich and  Annie Park I will be featuring them on Parrot Earth as well, because I feel that their stories should be heard, and people can learn a little something from them.**

Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you for opening your homes and hearts for the contest!

Thank you, and keep reading!
